Southwest appreciates the importance to clergy and lay leaders of continuing their education and offers numerous opportunities to earn CEUs. In addition, the faculty of SSW are regularly invited to teach at parishes, diocesan schools, and clergy conferences.
All the below qualify for CEUs.

Each summer, SSW presents a week-long continuing education session on the seminary's campus for clergy and lay leaders. Meant to give you "food for the journey" the content will have practical application back home, and the learning shared with faculty and friends will renew and refresh you. Our 2010 continuing education program, "Engaging Scripture, Heart and Mind: Teaching Scripture in the Parish," will be presented June 21-25, by Professor Cynthia Briggs Kittredge on the seminary campus. Lecture series in September (Blandy Lectures), February (Payne Lecture), and March (Harvey Lectures) presented by distinguished scholars and leaders in the Church offer additional learning and renewal opportunities. Southwest Lectures 2010-11 Academic Year
Clergy and lay leaders are invited to spend two weeks on campus in the Visiting Fellows program, which offers an opportunity to focus on a project of their own choosing to interact with faculty, and to join the seminary community in worship services, meals, and fellowship.
Workshops in vocation and ministry are offered by the Center for Vocation and Ministry at SSW on occasional Saturdays. Workshops are largely focused on counseling, pastoral theology and chaplaincy.
